Weekends.

Went Night Safari with Mr Black on one of the Saturdays! The only memory i had then was sitting in the tram with my grandparents and siblings and watching animals(not exactly visible) in the dark. Only now then i realise there are tracks to take and walk!
Highlights of the entire trip: Giant Flying Squirre!! Imagine it flying EXACTLY above ur head, in fact just centimetres above Mr Black's, feeling that sudden gush of wind. Fabulous sight and experience! Keeping their long bushy red tails tucked neatly above their head, ultimate cuteness (:
Next up: BATS!
I spent most of the timing with my head down and hiding behind Mr Black while all the extremely humongous bats fly around like nobody business and eating on the fruits hanging on the branches. But the best part, is to have such a close encounter with them. (: Just Superb. It reminds me of the secondary school days when we used to explore the old block, and occasionally end up being scared off by the bats flying around on level 3.
Boo. No pictures of animals from Night Safari because you cant see anything without flash. )):___________________________ Adidas Sundown
Just came back from Volunteering at Adidas Sundown. Am extremely tired as it was an 8pm to 8am event. and of course there was the usual pre and post stuff to settle. Filled with admiration for those who actually went for the Ultra Marathon 84km. It is just plain total madness!!
By 7am, u see most the males and males who were lagging at the back walking with their legs wide open due to abrasion and cramps and of course fatigue (At the 73km mark). Saw a couple of TJCians during the marathon, including one of the soccer guys who stopped at the zebra crossing I was assigned to. Happily waved back while I was there controlling the traffic haha. It is always nice to see familiar faces after 2 years, bringing back memories of the past.
Monetary rewards were pathetic, but it is one of a kind of experience to be a road marshall at night. Having to stand in front of the cars for hours and wave that red flashing light in front of them, hoping they will stop if not I will be the first to die.
But if not for the concentration required to spot the incoming cars, I would have fallen asleep at 4am in the morning alr
Not to forget some really enthusiastic participants who will even run with a camera to take pictures or do silly things/make funny comments. (:
And of course, The Very Sweet BF who actually drove down to the junction at Tampines Ave 9 and Ave 12, stood there for god knows how long and only walked over to surprise me when he realised that the other guy standing beside me is not another road marshall, in fear of disrupting my job.
TY for that one hour++ of companionship and the effort u took to come down!
Ending off with a photo taken during one of our healthy Dinner-Cooking-Days! (:
