sometimes being in hall meaning losing touch with your family.yes, we are in singapore and it is small.but yet when something happens to your family, u still might be the last to know.was back in hall last sunday night when i received an msn nudge from my cousin telling me my 79 year old grandpa was on the way to the ambulance. he was feeling giddy during his shower. and being someone who cares so much about 'face', one can guess how badly he must have felt in order to call for help.and i dont wish to imagine what will happen if my lil 5 year old cousin did not enter the room that night and nobody heard his calls for help.yes age catches up, i do know that. But it still saddens me knowing that your father can no longer carry u up to your room when u fell asleep on the sofa in living room, or how it may not be possible to see my grandpa jogging with me in London when it was all chilly and cold to make me happy (which just happened in June 2007).And only on friday, did i realise he was hospitalised, down with stroke, unable to drive, and finally promised to quit smoking at the age of 79 going 80. now i feel so guilty, cos i heard it was only HBP and thus inferred that it was just a minor matter.and if i din read my sis's blog today, i probably would not have known that my dad is down with severe gout. somehow all these news just dont pass on to me, and i just get updated when i am back home. the worst thing is i was back home this weekend, and yet was completely unaware of it.He almost fell down when walking to the doctor due to the sheer pain in his leg. It scares me to hear of such news. cos it is really tough to imagine your closest loved ones ageing and having all kinds of diseases.Every year, regardless whether it is bday wishes, CNY prayings or whatever, the top of my list never fails to be that longevity and health to my family.I think this year, i will further emphasize it more............................................................................................................
