back from hongkong/shenzhen!

but somone's gone for 18 days of training in taiwan.
sorry for not sending u off, its hard u know.

anyway, gonna start blogging about my hk/sz trip now.
it will be very lengthy and boring, cos i need to write them down rather detailedly so i will remember this trip in the future. so maybe u guys will like to skip this whole entry haha.

accompanyists: my dad, san and yun xiang( supposedly i am her lil aunt even thought she is older than me.

1st day (shenzhen)

ermm, din really have a gd impression of sz from this day.

-had a minor turbulence in the air, and the plane had to circle twice before proceeding to hk airport. was kinda scared on board the plane, cos it was really bumpy, like a small rollercoaster ride.

-had a really bad experience with all the china men. all being so rowdy and ungentlemanly. hey if u are in a rush and u bump into people, saying sorry wun take up much time right? imagine me and lisan, standing in the lift at the different corners chatting. the lift stops at a level, and a whole group of guys RUSH in like mad till the lift is full, without giving both of us anytime to react. even when they brushed against us (including the chests), they dont apologise. then when the lifts reached ground floor, all of them stomped out, leaving two of us inside shocked. there was another incident when we were dragging our luggage into the lift, the door closes on us 3 times cos tt idiot standing inside din even helped to press the "door open" button. my dad says cos not all are educated, so they dont know what manners are about. but is not it common sense to help us since we dont have hands to press the button?[ i m starting to appreciate singaporean guys haha]

-it was POURING madly at 华强北, so my pair of beloved flats was spoilt and had a hole in it. sobs, so i spent most of my time avoiding BIG puddles of water that are up to ur ankles, finding shelter and a shoe shop. wanted to buy an ipod there, but did not dare cos i cant tell which is fake and which is not. haha. yeah so there goes my plan to buy ipod there at a cheaper price.

irritated and worn out.

-it was crowded and noisy, with all the vehicles honking about and people rushing around impatiently. i swear if u live there, u will be as impatient as them! i felt like swearing instead of apologise when people bump into me lah haha.

BUT then...
-we went 东门. shopping heaven :D a must to go!

-the weather after the heavy downpour was really really nice and cooling. shops close ard 10pm and the latest public transport (exculding taxis) ends their services at 11pm, so it was really enjoyable walking down the streets at night.

clockwise from left:
1-3: photos taken at the back of a bus, looks like kbox room lah haha.
5:there are tables on the bus, i dont know whats the purpose of it.
7-8: only two mrt lines in shenzhen.

2nd day (shenzhen)

-thought it will be a boring sightseeing day, but it turned out great.
-dimsum for brkfast, and then headed down to the mtr " Window of the World" (世界之窗)
-chanced upon this place called 欢乐谷 (Happy Kingdom), and it was actually a super ultra big amusement park which is probably 100 times the size of Escape(not kidding at all). admission fee (RMB $150) was quite expensive as compared to China's cost of living. but it was definitely worth the money. the rides are really fun, but we din manage to sit all of them cos there was really too many. cos we din know we will be gg to an amusement park, san and i wore skirts. the most dumb thing to do since we have to sit with out legs wide open, while facing the rest of the visitors. so we probably zhao2 geng1 most of the time on the rides, not tt she cared though haha.

1-4: posing at the waterfall.
5: Happe Kingdom signage.
6: fairies-to-be in the mist heh heh (super embarrassing to pose for this cos ppl were walking ard.
7:haunted house. their haunted house is really scary cos there are "creatures" inside that reach out and grab you. not once, but at least 3 times. we screamed like mad lah.
9: peek-a-boo!
11: just feel like kissing it haha.
12:have no idea what we were doing then.
13:*munch munch*
15-16: individual photos with the gigantic elephant.

at 情人园( Lovers' garden)
1: our signature cheerleading pose haha :D
2: someone is missing in the photo :X

1: try to spot lisan hahaha.

2: trapped in a hole.

3-4:in a pig cage, like what the people in the olden days call it. 进猪笼!
-went for an hour full body massage after that. i still cant stand the thigh massage, too ticklish haha.

5: still sweet EIGHTEEN!

6-8: imitating the cartoon characters. i was just being myself( think only those in my secondary sch will get what i mean haha.)

3rd day(shenzhen)

-highlighted my hair light red and had a free haircut. china guys are really aggressive man and they showered us with praises like it was what they say everyday. oh they gave me a free temporary perm and i looked really ugly, adding at least 3 years on me sobs. i cant believe they actually persauded me to get a permanent perm when i look this ugly. san looked princessy with her new perm, now she no longer look tt young. but i miss her straight rebonded
hair haha.

1-5: our new hairdo

6: my pretty pedicure, but its ruined cos i wore back my shoes before it dries completely due to lack of time. the guy who did it for me is super super pro, his hands never once shook throughout the whole procedure, even when he was painting flowers on my nails.

8-9: we are messy girls, but nothing compared to san.

food in sz is nothing fantastic, so i din really bother to take much photos.

1:yun xiang aka luo luo

7: it really taste like tea, but they all say its water.

1:pampering ourselves with supper

2:the chocolates din turn out as nice as what lisan said it should have been

3: but still we love chocolates! :)

4: ermm not nice at all.

4th day (hk)

- off to HONG KONG.

aim of the trip: to experience local's life, take all forms of public transport and try their oh-so-fabulous food.

checked in to our hotel at causeway bay, which is very very niceee!

-went jordan and found the shop cheetat recommended.

YUMMY!!!
1-4: steamed milk, chocolate flavour and pure milk!
5-6: dessert-hei zi ma and tang yuan!
7-8: takopachi, really nice!
9: "takopachi" from china, it sucks.

-then went to a park to watch all the eldery doing their individual unique ways of excercisng to keep fit. really interesting.

-went mongkok 女人街 at night and bought NOTHING! it was dead boring, with no night life. and my friend was told off by one of the stall vendors cos she touched her goods when she did not have an intention to buy. so beware! touch only if u wanna buy! so after having some ultra delicious takopachi, we proceeded on to 庙街 (we walked there despite many hkgers giving us the weird stares when we ask for directions to walk there from mongkok haha) to
have some late night supper (蚝饼). different from our 蚝煎, it was deep fried so its crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. nicee~ and then how can we miss out on fortune telling?! haha it was about HK100 per person but we managed to bargain till HK50 (S$10). really worth a try to hear what ur life will be like. i dont believe in it, but yah its really interesting. imagine seeing the whole street lined with fortune tellers, waving at you to patronise them, saying stuff like "来,送你几句话。不准不收钱." and " 我可以把你一身的经历,从一岁到100岁都说出来!"

oh and how can i forget this? we have all along been asking females for directions. and after walking for bloody long and getting somewhat lost in mongkok, we were feeling very much irritated and low. so san suggested" eh, why not we find some shuai ge to ask?" I happily agreed to it. so there we were searching for one. then san suddenly pointed out a guy discreetly and said " Eh, how about tt one?" My face changed, and replied " where got shuai?!" LOLS. then she scolded me for being so picky when we are in a rush to ask for directions. so we gave up searching for a shuai one and settled with a not bad looking one. bleah.

5th day(hk)

-woke up with the craving of eggtarts and nai cha.

-so on our way to the bus stop, we spotted a tram which board states "跑马地"(Happy Valley). so we ran after the tram and boarded it without checking if its final destination was there. and then tan li san actually turned and asked two aunties behind " Does this bus goes to 真情的跑马地?" My god i almost fainted haha. They took awhile to understand that she was talking about the then-popular 100+ episodes show, lols! san really have the guts man.

i miss my eggtarts, nai cha.........

AHHH~ I REGRET NOT HAVING MORE EGGTARTS. cheap and veryyyy YUMMY!

6:me and my car at Happy Valley :)
7: spotted one shuaige with a handsome dog. managed to take a photo of him on the sly heh heh.

rest: exploring Happy Valley, while san tries in vain to locate Zhen Qing's filming locations.

-crossed over to lantau island to tung chung, where branded goods are sold at a cheaper price.

-at night, we went to victoria peak! on the way there, we met a friendly hk guy who offered to help us locate our exact location after looking at me fumbled with the map. he gave me the shock of my life when he told me we missed our stop and tt the bus is heading to admiralty. in the end, he was wrong. haha if u are wondering how he's like, he's not bad looking, probably rich(cos he stopped at mid-lvl valley), friendly (waved bye to me before he got down the
bus), speaks fluent mandarin. but then again not tt i care, cos i have one tons better than him :P.nonetheless, i have v gd impression of hongkongers. all the guys are real gentlemen compared to the china men i met in shenzhen. an incident we had: we were on the lift and were unsure if we should alight at this level and stayed on for quite awhile. the other two guys in the lift actually waited for us and made a hang gesture for us to go first. so sweet right!! oh
and did i mention they are goodlooking, haha!

1: bridge in hk, i forgot the name heh heh.
2-8: up at peak tower! pretty pretty view, and it was really windy!
9:cant believe we went up there dressed in this, cos it was freezing cold with the strong wind blowing against us.
12-16: i really really really wanna bring the whole bed home, the pillow is heavenly soft and comfy! just look at how san sleeps and the picture says it all.

went back to causeway bay, and started counting all the shuai ges once again. 1....2...4....10...50..and then we lost count. so many! out of 50, at least 20 are of superior grade. tall, gd dress sense, exudes a certain type of charisma, gd feaures!wanted to go lan kwai fong where all the pubs are, but san forgot to bring her passport/ic along. so we din wanna make a wasted trip, in case we are denied admission.

6th day(hk)

-flying back tonight.
-ate at cafe de coral for the last time, i love the food. dont understand why they dont open branches in singapore, it will be a real hit for sure!
